October 5th, 2008 by adminMercedes started it with the CLS-class…a four-door sedan that had a sloping roofline, small windows, and a profile that looked like that of a coupe. It looked the part, except it was quite long to accommodate the two extra doors.
A few years later, Aston Martin approves its own four-door “coupe” for production, the Rapide. Porsche soon follows suit and announces its four-door Panamera.
Well, the list of four-door coupes just grew longer, thanks to Lamborghini and its new Estoque concept. The Estoque features design cues from the latest Lambos including the Reventon and the Murcielago LP640.
Because of the four doors though, the Estoque, unlike its brethren, is very oddly proportioned. It even looks a bit cartoonish from some angles. It’s over five meters long and over two meters wide but only 1.35 meters tall.
Up front, it has huge air intakes and the familiar angled headlamps that Lambo has been using for so long already. Out back, it has y-shaped LEDs for brake lamps, with lines and edges all over.
Lamborghini haven’t said yet whether the Estoque will go into production or not, but the fact that the concept meets all necessary legislation like the Euro NCAP and the EU’s new pedestrian laws gives hope to those who would someday want to get their hands on this one-of-a-kind car.
